Maintaining personal information
PEER Group has established the following practices regarding the maintenance of personal information.
Individuals can request access to their personal information at any time
If, for any reason, an individual wishes to review their personal information that PEER Group has in its possession, they can contact our Privacy Officer, who will be pleased to provide them with all their personal information that PEER Group has on file, subject to verification of the identity of the individual to verify that they have the right to make such request and obtain such information.
Individuals can request changes to their personal information at any time
If a customer wishes to make any changes or corrections to their personal information, they may contact their business contact at PEER Group, or our Privacy Officer, who will implement the changes. This will help us ensure our records are always up-to-date.
Individuals can opt out of communications at any time
Individuals always have the choice of whether they wish to receive information – such as e-mail updates – from PEER Group. However, customers need to be aware that if they do choose to opt out of communications respecting products and services provided by PEER Group, they may not obtain all the benefits we could otherwise provide, such as updates or warnings. PEER Group will not have any liability for loss of those benefits or any negative effects respecting customers’ use of PEER Group’s products or services after such opting out of communications.
Individuals can request that personal information be destroyed at any time
A situation may arise where an individual desires to have some or all of their personal information that is contained in PEER Group’s records deleted or destroyed. In such an event, please contact our Privacy Officer, who will take care of removing the applicable personal information from all of PEER Group’s records. However, there may be situations where we are obligated to retain one archival copy of the information to allow us to comply with laws or respond to legal processes, and there are certain situations where information cannot be deleted or removed (such as information affecting the count of people at a given location on a given date and time). We will inform the affected individual of all such situations, make reasonable efforts to anonymize such information without affecting our legal obligations, and will only use any retained personal information to the limited extent necessary to comply with such laws or respond to legal processes.
Use of cookies
The PEER Group website uses “cookies” to help personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a webpage server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize PEER Group pages, or register with PEER Group site or services, a cookie helps PEER Group to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same PEER Group website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the PEER Group features that you customized.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the PEER Group services or websites you visit.
Security of your personal information
PEER Group secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. PEER Group secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
Changes to this statement
PEER Group will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect company and customer feedback. PEER Group encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how PEER Group is protecting your information.
